~Slave Commands, Signals & Gestures~

“One commands and uses a slave totally. That is what they are for. They must serve completely. They must deliver, at so little as a word or gesture, immediately and unquestioningly, whatever the master desires.” Mercenaries of Gor

Divider_line

A note about Variances: save for a select few, each of these positions or commands will  have a variance, either depending on the City, the Free’s preference, or simply the time they are performed the Free can make adjustments based on his or her instant desires.

“Observe,” once had said Elizabeth to me, to my amusement, in the secrecy of our compartment, “the twelfth way to enter a room,” I had observed. It was not bad. But I think I preferred the tenth, that with the girl’s back against the side of the door, the palms of her hands on the jamb, her head up, lips slightly parted, eyes to the right, smoldering at just the right temperature. “How many ways are there,” I asked, sitting cross-legged in the center of the compartment, on the stone couch, “to enter a room?” “It depends on the city,” said Elizabeth. “In Ar we are the best; we have most ways to enter a room. One hundred and four.” I whistled. “What about,” I asked, “just walking straight through?” She looked at me. “Ah,” said she, “one hundred and five.” Assassin of Gor

So, as we can see if something as simple as ‘entering the room’ has 105 ways -there is likely many, many other ways for each of these as well.

Commands -while there are many, many ways to command a slave, and it would impossible to list them all, these are some very specific commands that I have found in the books -in a short list form!  Most you will find are self-explanatory, while others might consider some more like positions, such as a “Slave Lips” or “Heel,” though I have compiled them as commands:

Divider_line

~Be Silent: just what it says, the slave is now silenced -she is effectively Gagged by Master’s Will.

-SILENT COMMAND: lay finger across lips, or touch lips twice.

-Gag Signals: the only acceptable form of communication for a gagged or silenced slave: one whimper for yes, two whimpers for no.

~Blanket: “When a blanket, or cloak, or covering of any sort, is thrown over a slave like this she may not speak or rise. She must remain as she is, silent, until the Master, or some free man, lifts the covering away.” Explorers of Gor,  -Sometimes even just saying “Blanket” is effective enough, then the slave is “Bound by the Master’s Will” where no bonds are used other than the command of the Free. Gag signals are allowed.

Divider_line

~Come/Approach: just what it says, you are commanded to the Free.

-SILENT COMMAND: Snapping fingers at a distant slave.

Divider_line

~Crawl: move to “All Fours” and do not rise until released.

-SILENT COMMAND: Four fingers pointing downwards.

Divider_line

~Dance: dance. “Dance, Slave!” commanded the proprietor, her Master.” Raiders of Gor

Divider_line

~Do Not Struggle: be still.

Divider_line

~Down!: this is a command to belly in the books.

Divider_line

~Drink: two versions: one means to pour more wine.  The other is to have a sip from their cup, or an additional cup.  Always best to not drink from the same area of the rim that the Free has used: “He extended his goblet to me. “Drink,” he said, offering me the cup. I looked at the rim of the cup. I shook with terror. “A slave girl dares not touch with her lips the rim of that cup which has been touched with the lips of her master,” I whispered.” Captive of Gor

Divider_line

~Eat: sometimes known as “Feed,” the slave is allowed to eatwhat she has been given -a lot of the time from the hand of the Master which by Tuchuk standards indicates the slave is now owned by that Tuchuk.

Divider_line

~Eyes Front: just what is says, face and look forward -usually used in a coffle, or leashed.

Divider_line

~Feed Me: feed the Master with the food between your teeth.  The quote has it with your hands behind you as if bracleted, kneeling on one knee with the other extended behind you, but can be easily performed from his lap.

Divider_line

~Fetch: just as it says; bring the item back in your teeth -usually crawling.

Divider_line

~Go: depart, leave, go to a directed area, and/or perform any commands previously given to you.

Divider_line

~Hair: a command to present your hair for the Master to use like a napkin.

Divider_line

~Heel: follow the Master slightly behind him and on the left.  To heel on the right is a common signal that the slave is in disfavor or the Free is left handed.  You should be closer to the Master the more crowded it is in the area.  There is no reason to kneel up and down as you heel the Free -unless they stop for an extended amount of time.

-SILENT COMMAND: snapping with hand extended (usually taught snapping as left arm is held out.)

Divider_line

~Hurry/Har-ta: move faster.  “Har-ta” means “faster” in Gorean.

Divider_line

~Injection Position: taught to barbarians, this is the fetal position on the right side so that injections can be easily administered. An example that a Free can command a specific position, name it, and tell the slave to remember it later.

Divider_line

~Juice: prepare your body to be used sexually; secrete sexual juices in preparation to being used.

Divider_line

~Kiss the Quirt: kiss the whip.

Divider_line

~Knee Walk/Crawl: to walk/crawl on your knees only -also a dance move in Turia.

Divider_line

~Lean Back:  lean back with your hands behind you supporting your weight, and expose yourself. There is a gesture for this but isn’t described fully in the books.

Divider_line

~Lick and Kiss: exactly what it says.

Divider_line

~To My Lips: press your lips to the Master’s!

Divider_line

~Lips to Boot: lick and kiss the Free’s feet.

Divider_line

~Look At Me: this is a command for eye contact.

Divider_line

~Man!: a warning the first slave to see the Free gives in a group of slaves, that find themselves in the prescence of the Free -they all assume the City’s traditional default Primary Slave Position: kneeling, obeisance, or belly (depending on the City.)

Divider_line

~March: sets a coffle of slaves moving forward, starting with the left foot.

-SILENT COMMAND: hitting the right thigh with open hand.

Divider_line

~Mat: a command that moves slaves to their mats to kneel, unable to leave until released.

Divider_line

~Nestle: a command that puts the slave in the arm of the Master.

Divider_line

~Perform: stars a series of floor movements that puts the slave on display for the pleasure of the free.

Divider_line

~Please Me: a command to begin sexually pleasing the Free.

Divider_line

~Position: a command to assume the slave’s Primary Slave Position: nadu, or tower.

Divider_line

~Pretend Disinterest: a dangerous command given to a slave to pretend she is not interested in a particular man, usually with respect to supper guests to whom he intends to lend her for the night.

Divider_line

~Run: “When this command is given, she runs toward her objective, taking short rapid steps, with her legs almost straight, her feet hardly leaving the floor.  As she moves her back is straight, her head is turned toward the left, and her arms are at her sides, her palms facing outward at a 45-degree angle to her body.  Upon reaching her objective she drops gracefully to her knees and typically resumes the position of Nadu.” Assassin of Gor

Divider_line

~Sandals!: the command to place or remove the sandals from the Free’s feet -always kiss each one before and after you place them or remove them.

Divider_line

~Shackle Yourself:  just as it says: the slave attaches slave rings to her ankle and wrist.

Divider_line

~(Modality of the) She-Quadruped: also known as “The Discipline of the She-Tarsk”, the slave must go to her hands and knees and act as a an animal until released -she can’t use her hands unless to crawl, is not permitted human speech other than whimpering or moaning, and must eat and drink from the floor.  Gag Signals are allowed.

Divider_line

~Show Rebellion: “There is a mock rebellion which is sometimes permitted a slave girl, or even commanded of her, for the master’s amusement. I felt a tear on my cheek. “Show rebellion,” is a command which a girl must, as any other, obey. Yet it is a terribly cruel command. “Kneel,” is the command which, commonly, puts an end to her rebellion.” Slave Girl of Gor

Divider_line

~Slave Lips:  “A girl who is commanded to make slave lips, or who receives the command, “Slave lips,” must form her mouth for kissing. She then, commonly, is not permitted to break this lip position until either she kisses or is kissed. Needless to say, a girl cannot speak when her lips are in the unbroken, fully-pursed slave-lips position. The command which commonly follows the “Slave-lips” command is, “Please me.” Blood Brothers of Gor

Divider_line

~Stand: we may at any given time be told to stand, do so as command or stand beautifully as slaves before the Free.

-SILENT COMMAND: Snapping of fingers to a slave before the Free.  Snapping again means to kneel again.
-SILENT COMMAND: Snapping to call a slave, then leaving palm up.
-SILENT COMMAND: Right hand facing the floor then lifted slightly.

Divider_line

~Stop/Stay: we must, as slaves, always respond to these commands immediately -as we are merely property.

Divider_line

~Strip: under any command,  “Remove your clothing,” “Bare yourself,” “Disrobe,” “Show me a slave,” “I would see my slave,” “Why are you clothed before me?” “Exhibit my property,” “Display yourself,” “You need not wear your tunic at the moment,” “Remove the impediments to my vision,” “You are lovelier stripped than clothed, are you not?” “What do I own?” “To the collar and brand, girl,” “How were you on the block?”, it all means the same: take off your clothes.

-SILENT COMMAND: tapping of the left shoulder; this indicates usually where a disrobing loops is generally found.

Divider_line

~Veck: this either means “awaken” or “get up.”

Divider_line

~Walk: a command given usually to just the grace and gait of a slave.  Interesting bit of trivia: women in the Tahari walk with a measured step.

Divider_line

~Wriggle: a command given usually to test the bonds of a slave to see if any need tightened, or simply to please the Free.

Divider_line

The following quote lists some interesting items that are otherwise not described:  “What is the forty-third position of joy?” asked the man. “I do not know, Master,” she said. “What is the sixth delight of the hair of a female slave?” he asked. “I have no idea, Master,” she said. “What is the title of the eighteenth love song of Dina, the slave poetess?” he asked “I do not know, Master,” she said. “Do you know anything?” he asked. “Very little, Master,” she said. Prize of Gor

So we can see that there is a lot more that goes into the formal training of a pleasure slave that is even described in the books.

Divider_line

One must never hesitate in carrying out a position or command of the Free:  “Oh, Beverly,” said Policrates. “Yes, Master,” said the girl, hurrying forward and falling to her knees before him. “Earlier,” said he, “you hesitated, if only briefly, in carrying out a command.” “Forgive me, Master,” she begged, turning white. “Leading position,” he said. Sobbing, she rose to her feet, and put her head down, at what would be the height of a man’s waist, her legs flexed. A guard walked over and fastened his hand in her hair. “Have her whipped,” said Policrates. “Yes, Captain,” said the man. He then left the chamber, pulling the girl, sobbing, at his side. I was pleased to see that Policrates was a strict master. The girl was, of course, guilty. She had clearly hesitated in carrying out a command. How can a girl expect such laxities to go unnoticed, or unpunished?” Rogue of Gor

Divider_line

Not understanding a command though is not usually faulted -as long as the slave is doing her best to obey: “I had been commanded by a man. I obeyed immediately, or did my best to obey. If a command needs to be repeated, as the saying goes, the girl needs to be punished. If the girl thinks, however, that the command may have been, say, an inadvertence, or mistake, or that the master might relent, or something along these lines, she might, say, beg or inquire. She is reassured of the intent and seriousness of the command if, for example, she is asked if the command need be repeated, which eventuality she will presumably be anxious to avoid. If she has, sincerely, and not as a girl’s trick, not understood the command, or has not heard it, or fears she may not have heard it correctly, she may also inquire into the matter, of course, and normally without penalty. In such cases the repetition of a command is not regarded as cause for discipline. A girl is seldom punished for trying to be pleasing, at least at first. If her efforts continue to fail, however, that is a different matter.” Dancer of Gor

Usually though if she’s asked “Must a command be repeated,” it presses upon her the seriousness of the Free’s intent -saying this is all it takes to make a slave respond instantly:  “Must a command be repeated?” is a question which strikes terror into a slave girl’s heart, for a repeated command is commonly a cause for discipline. The usual answer to that question is a hasty “No, Master,” followed by immediate compliance. It is another thing, of course if the command has not been heard, is not clear, would be impractical to obey, or such.” Conspirators of Gor

Divider_line

“Did she not yet know that any slave must do anything, and everything, at the merest suggestion of a master, at his merest word, even at his slightest gesture, or glance? That is something that most girls learn quite quickly.” Players of Gor

Leash Signal:

Undefined Signals & Gestures: there are undefined gestures for dancing, dismissal, kneeling, kissing boots, laying down, leaning back, move, proceed, and even to rise -none of which are further defined many of which are also listed with undefined motions, but I have included several quotes for them:

~To Dance: “At a signal from Ibn Saran, Alyena drew the veil about her body, and around it, and, with one small hand, threw it aside. She stood boldly before him, arms lifted, head to the side, right leg flexed. The veil, floating, wafted away, a dozen feet from her, and gently, ever so gently, settled to the tiles. Then, to the new melodic line, she danced.” Tribesmen of Gor

~Dismissal: “I dismissed her with a gesture, as a slave is dismissed.” Smugglers of Gor

~To Kneel: “With his head Rask of Treve gestured me to one side, and I went and knelt to one side, as I had before.” Captive of Gor

~Kiss Boots: “At his gesture, she, frightened, pressed her lips to his boots, and then looked up at him, waiting to be commanded.” Beasts of Gor

~To Lay: “I gestured to the mat with the whip. Immediately she lay upon it.” Mercenaries of Gor

~To Lean Back: “He gestured to the grass, permissively. I sat back, on the grass, leaning back, on the palms of my hands. In this fashion one’s hands are rather behind one, and rather held in place, by one’s own weight. This position is one we are taught. In it, as is clear to us, we are more vulnerable.” Witness of Gor

~To Move: “I gestured toward the bars, and she hurried to them.” Rebels of Gor

~To Proceed: “He gestured that she should precede him.” Swordsmen of Gor

~To Rise: “Flaminius gestured that the two girls should try to rise and walk a bit about the room.” Assassin of Gor

Divider_line

Claps, Snaps, Whistles & Motions: these are used often for various uses:

Claps:

~To Announce Presence: “I had not announced my presence to them, and by design, as might have a typical Gorean male. Such a male, entering among hooded slaves, in particular, pleasure slaves, might have signified his presence by smiting his thigh once, or by twice clapping his hands, sharply, perhaps, at the same time, calling, “Position.” Blood Brothers of Gor

~To Dance: “I then stepped back from her. “When I clap my hands,” I said, “you will dance, Slave.” “Yes, Master,” she said.” Explorers of Gor

~To Stop Dancing: Rask clapped his hands again, twice, sharply. The musicians stopped, and the girl stopped dancing. “That is enough, Slave Girl,” he said.” Captive of Gor

~To Dismiss: “The feast steward then clapped his hands twice, dismissing the girls, who rushed from the room; and then he clapped his hands twice more.” Nomads of Gor

~To Summon: “I had last seen Tajima at the camp of tarns, north of the holding of Lord Temmu, in his headquarters tent. He moved aside the lists of equipment and the maps on the small table, and clapped his hands, twice, briskly. Nezumi hurried in, and knelt, head down, to await instructions.” Rebels of Gor

Snaps:

~To Come: “We must run to a man eagerly, at his least summons. We could be “gotten” as easily as by a snapping of the fingers.” Dancer of Gor

~To Dance: “Yet if the fingers were snapped, or the hands clapped, or the gesture made, lifting the palms upward, she knew she must dance, dance as any slave, and as a slave must dance, for men.” Prize of Gor

~To Dismiss: “Normally slave girls, with a snap of the fingers or a wave of the hand, are dismissed from an area when sensitive information is to be discussed.” Renegades of Gor

~To Fetch: “Perhaps she will be permitted, at a snapping of fingers, to crawl to the master, bringing him the whip in her teeth.” Prize of Gor

~To Kneel: “I snapped my fingers, and the girl, to the side, rose from her knees and lightly hurried to the table, beside which she again knelt, head down.” Rouge of Gor

~To Lift Head: “I snapped my fingers and the girl kneeling before the dais lifted her head.” Guardsman of Gor

~To Serve: “Then he snapped his fingers. Through the door, bearing a tray, came a small, exquisite, brunet female slave.” Beasts of Gor

~To Stand: “I snapped my fingers, and she stood.” Rogue of Gor

Whistles:

“Also, clipped to the belt, was a slave whistle, used in issuing signals, summoning slaves, and so on.” Assassin of Gor

“About her throat there hung a slave whistle.” Assassin of Gor

~To Come: “Must she not hasten to her place at his feet, summoned even as might be another form of domestic animal, perhaps by a mere word, or whistle?” Witness of Gor

~To Serve:  “The slave must be instantly ready to serve the master, and at so little as a whistle, a gesture or a snapping of the fingers.” Magicians of Gor

Motions:

~To Approach: “He turned to us, and motioned us forward, the five girls in the coffle. We approached.” Slave Girl of Gor

~To Dismiss: I motioned her away, impatiently, clumsily. “Thank you, Master,” she said, and leapt up and fled, with a flash of bells, from the small, round table, at which I sat, cross-legged.” Smugglers of Gor

~To Follow: “He motioned that I should follow him within.” Witness of Gor

~To Lay: “He carried some things, and motioned that I should lie upon my stomach in the vicinity of the double door.” Witness of Gor

~To Move: “A man opened the gate and motioned me out, still on all fours, onto a small wooden platform.” Dancer of Gor

~To Rise: “He motioned for her to rise, and she did so, and stood before him, though I feared she might fall.” Mariners of Gor
